MASS FUNERAL FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE NONGOMA BUS TRAGEDY
KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Mr S’bu Ndebele together with local
Amakhosi, councillors, MP’s, MPL’s, church leaders and leaders from
various other sectors will attend the mass funeral service for the victims
of the Nongoma bus tragedy. The funeral service will take place on
………………….
The Nongoma bus tragedy occurred on Thursday,
25 April 2002 at approximately 17h30 near Ngome Store on the road between
Vryheid and Nongoma. 23 People were killed instantly when the driver of
the bus in which they were travelling allegedly lost control after the
right rear tyre burst causing the bus to roll down an embankment and
overturn.
The bodies will lie in state at the Nongoma Stadium, thereafter
proceeding to the respective areas where they will be laid to rest.

- Khathangana Nosivumile Antony – Male – 29 years
