EMERGENCY SERVICES MEETING

The Head: KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport, Dr K B Mbanjwa will meet with Departmental Heads from the various emergency services around the province at the McDonald Theatre, KZN Department of Transport Offices, 172 Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg on Thursday, 10th January 2002 commencing at 09H30.

The emergency services family has many common areas of interest and can maximize efforts to combat crime through joint operations and shared resources.

All major events that occur in KwaZulu-Natal are planned and managed by the three tiers of government and the various agencies work together for the common good of all the people of this province. General crime and road traffic crime is closely related and frequently occurs concurrently.

Thus, the objective of this meeting is to foster better working relationships with inputs from Commissioner Khanyile (SAPS), Maj. Gen. Tshiki (SANDF), Adv. Mpshe (Public Prosecutions), Director Manzi (Metro Police) and Mr Pascoe (Pietermaritzburg Traffic and Safety).
