KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Mr S’bu Ndebele will launch the 2002
Easter Holiday Road Safety Programme on Thursday, 28 March 2002 on the
N3 (Southbound) at the Marianhill Toll Plaza commencing at 08H00.
The aim of this event is to unveil the KwaZulu-Natal Department of
Transport’s road safety programme for the Easter holidays and to focus
attention on measures undertaken by the Department to mount an offensive
against road traffic offenders.
As part of our "Zero Tolerance" approach to traffic offences,
the Department of Transport will implement a very comprehensive programme
of enforcement and education activities. This Easter, traffic law
enforcement agencies in KZN will not only police the national routes but
will also keep a watchful eye on routes around small towns and communities
that do not normally have access to traffic policing services.
All media are invited to attend. Note picture opportunities.
