A DAY OF PRAYER TO MOURN THE DEATH OF ACCIDENT VICTIMS
KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Mr S’bu Ndebele has called for a day
of prayer for those loved ones who have lost their lives as a result of
road collisions in KwaZulu-Natal. April 2002 has been a traumatising month
for many families and friends who had to endure the pain and trauma of
losing a loved one / ones at a fatal collision.
The North Coast and
Zululand Region was the most affected area with thirty-two people killed.
The bus crash at Nongoma claiming the lives of twenty-three people, the
Durban Metro area accounted for twelve, Northern Natal eleven and Midlands
seven.
This province cannot afford such loss of human resources and the
financial costs associated arising from these collisions. No developing
province can afford such wastage of resources. Prayers is one the
initiatives by the Department OF Transport to help stop the carnage on our
roads.
