"CELE WARNS STRIKING TRUCK DRIVERS"
The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety
and Liaison Mr Bheki Cele issued a stern warning to truck drivers not to
block the road while on strike or they will face harsh measures of their
trucks being impounded.
This follows a blockade on Warrick Avenue, corner of
Williams and Lancer Street in Durban central, whereby a number of trucks
blocked the road today. MEC Bheki Cele said-"the Road Traffic
Inspectorate together with the SAPS, SANDF and the Metro Police will not
tolerate unruly truck drivers, therefore they will ensure that they
impound all the trucks that are blocking the road and will also arrest
truck drivers who are intimidating other truck drivers who are not on
strike"
