SOD TURNING FOR PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr. Bheki Cele will turn the sod to mark the start of construction of a Pedestrian Bridge over the White uMfolozi River on Monday, 7th February 2005 at 10h00 at Nomzimane High School in Mahlabathini (Ntababomvu, eQwasha).

After many years of suffering, the construction of this bridge will bring hope to the community of Mahlabathini who will now be able to cross the White uMfolozi River safely to get to schools, clinics and shops. This will also benefit the local people in terms of employment opportunities.

This project is another testimony of MEC Cele’s efforts to deliver on government’s commitment to improve the lives of our people who suffered years of neglect as a result of apartheid policies.
