KZN GOVERNMENT TO ADDRESS MEMORIAL SERVICE AT uMSINGA

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Bheki Cele together with MEC for Local Government, housing and Traditional Affairs Mike Mabuyakhulu and MEC for Social Welfare, Inkosi Nyanga Ngubane, will attend the Memorial Service and traditional healing ceremony of the 5 children who passed away in a traumatic incident in uMsinga last month.

The ceremony will be held at uMsinga, Bathenjini Hall, Tugela Ferry on Thursday, 10 February 2004 at 09h00.

This is following Gwilile Ngcobo and her Husband, Mabona Ngcobo were released on Tuesday after charges of murder against them were withdrawn by the prosecution on grounds of lack of evidence.

As part of the proceedings, the KZN government is to address the community in a bid to reintegrate the couple with the uMsinga community as part of the restorative justice. The three MEC will also urge the community to respect the verdict of the independent court and embrace the falsely accused as part of the community again.
