MEC CELE EXPRESSES SHOCK OVER KZN MPL’S SUDDEN DEATH
KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr
Bheki Cele has expressed shock and sends his heartfelt condolences to
the bereaved family of the late Mr Anthony Grinker (35), a member of the
KwaZulu-Natal parliament.
Preliminary reports have revealed that Grinker was travelling from
Pietermaritzburg to Durban when he lost control of his vehicle on the N3
South Bound. He was driving on the right hand lane when his vehicle went
to the left, it hit the bank twice and he (Grinker) was thrown out of
his vehicle. His own car went over him and came to a standstill about 5
metres away from his body. He died instantly on the scene.
“Grinker’s untimely death comes as a shock to my department and the
leadership at large therefore I urge all motorists to keep to the rules
of the road and be 100 % Compliant this festive season”, Cele said. The
late Anthony Grinker was serving as a Secretary of NADECO in KwaZulu-
Natal. He is survived by his wife and family.
