MEC BHEKI TO ATTEND FUNERAL OF RTI OFFICER WHO WAS
SHOT AND KILLED ON DUTY

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and
Liaison Mr. Bheki Cele and Transport CEO Dr. Kwazi Mbanjwa will today
attend the funeral service of the late Mr. Sagren Pillay (32) a Road
Traffic Inspector who was shot and killed yesterday at the N3 Marianhill
Toll Plaza.
The funeral service for Pillay will be held at his
parents home, at 52 Summerfield Road Unit 2, Chatsworth and short church
service will be held at the PRC Township Church, then proceeding to the
Mobeni Heights cemetery.
Mbanjwa said Pillay had served five years working as a
Traffic Officer for RTI-Pinetown in KZN- Department of Transport. "Pillay
showed an outstanding performance for law enforcement in the province, his
love and dedication for road safety made him to part with his family,
friends and colleagues whilst on duty," he said.
Pillay survived by his 25 year old wife, Annalene
Pillay, 25, his daughter, Shenaya Lee, 4, his parents, two brothers and a
sister.
