SIX PEOPLE KILLED IN HORROR CRASH
Six people have been killed in a horror accident involving two vehicles
and a truck on the R74 road between KwaMaphumulo and Kranskop this
afternoon.
Preliminary reports have revealed that the driver of the truck drove
into the back of the Ford Courier bakkie and pushed the vehicle which
subsequently hit the white stallion bakkie thereafter the truck went
down into the 20 metre ditch.
Five people (all females) including a twelve year old pedestrian were
killed instantly and one female died later in hospital, twelve people
were rushed to Mphumulo hospital and are reported to be in a stable but
critical condition.

Cele conveys his condolences to the bereaved families and warned all
motorists but particularly truck drivers to be more careful on the road.
"We will ensure that all aspects pertaining to this collision are
thoroughly investigated, reckless and negligence driving is a serious
charge; we will maintain our Zero tolerance to 100% Compliance and
ensure that all negligent drivers are dealt with accordingly" Cele said.
Six counts of culpable homicide and charges of reckless and negligent
driving against the truck driver will be investigated by the SAPS.
