"DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT REPORT BACK SUMMIT"

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr. Bheki Cele together with the Head of Department Dr Kwazi Mbanjwa will be hosting a two day Report Back Transport Summit on the 26th and 27th May 2005, in Ulundi at the former Legislature Building starting at 9h00 am on Thursday.

Department of Transport stakeholders that will be involved include: Zibambele and Vukuzakhe contractors, Rural Road Transport Forums, Taxi Associations, Community Road Safety Councils, Municipal Mayors, Councillors and Amakhosi.

MEC Bheki Cele will deliver a keynote address. Issues to be to be discussed will include safety on our roads, road infrastructure, the Expanded Public Works Program (EPWP) and Black Economic Empowerment (BEE). MEC Cele said "This summit is a continuation of the People’s contract that we signed with the people of KwaZulu-Natal in April 2004 of bringing government close to the people".
