MEC FOR TRANSPORT, COMMUNITY SAFETY AND LIAISON TO DELIVER BUDGET SPEECHThe KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr Bheki Cele will deliver his budget speeches for the Departments of Transport and Community Safety and Liaison on Friday 29th April 2005 in Pietermaritzburg Provincial Legislature starting from 9h00 am. Highlights of his budget speech are that Community Safety and Liaison will receive more than 181 percent increment from last year’s budget. MEC Cele has raised concerns on the allocation to transport. "Transport is not budgeted for as if it was a basic need. As a result we are not in a position to meet the transport demands of all our citizens". MEC Bheki Cele will host Transport stakeholders and the media in an evening function to be held at Imbali Township Plessislaer FET College starting from 5h00 pm.
