MEC BHEKI CELE TO CONDUCT SOD-TURNING CEREMONY IN EMSELENI (KWAMHLABUYALINGANA)
KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr Bheki
Cele will conduct a sod-turning ceremony of the Sibaya Lake Bridge in
Emseleni tomorrow the 27th September 2005.
The sod-turning of the bridge came after the community of Emseleni
especially the learners from the local schools experienced difficulties of
crossing to the other side of the river making life so impossible to cross
to the shops and other areas. Due to these difficulties, learners as well
as teachers are forced to cross the river on foot. After the completion of
the bridge communities from across the river will be linked to social,
cultural and economic gatherings.
Since KwaZulu-Natal commenced building pedestrian bridges at river
crossing some five years ago there has been a demand for such structures
from numerous communities.
