The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport will be hosting a two days Provincial workshop on Expanded Public Works Program. It will be held in Durban Royal Hotel from 2nd to 3rd November 2006 from 09h00 am.

The purpose of the workshop is to develop a logical framework and business plan with measurable targets for the remaining term of the EPWP (2006/2007, 2007/2008 and 2008/2009). The intention is to get commitments from the provincial departments, municipalities and state owned enterprises on the contribution to the national target of one million jobs and budgets that they will set aside for EPWP implementation in their organisations.

The KwaZulu- Natal Department of Transport has been assigned the responsibility of coordinating the EPWP in the province. The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison will deliver a keynote address in the workshop. Invited are Heads of Provincial Departments, District Municipal Managers and CEO's of state owned enterprises.
