MEC CELE SUPPORTS 365 DAYS CAMPAIGN AGAINST WOMEN ABUSE

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr Bheki Cele throws his full weight behind the 365 days against the abuse of women and children. This initiative was launched by the country’s Deputy President Mrs. Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka at a prestigious event that was attended by government officials, NGO’s and members of the public.

“The extension of the campaign to 365 days will definitely create hope for the women and children that we have committed ourselves to defend and protect beyond the call of duty. My department will ensure that we accelerate the pace and strengthen our campaigns in pushing a strong message against women abuse to the community,” Cele said.

“Indeed 16 days of Activism has been a vibrant and dynamic campaign therefore we will work tirelessly to strike a balance and support the campaign throughout the year. I strongly condemn the recent behaviour of men raping young kids; police officers will leave no stone unturned to ensure that those animals face the full might of the law and rot in jail,” Cele added.
