MEC CELE WILL ATTEND THE MASS FUNERAL OF SEVEN MEMBERS
OF ONE FAMILY IN NEWCASTLE
Saturday 11 February 2006, Inyonini Zion Church,
Section 2 Madadeni at 10 am
KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr.
Bheki Cele and other respective dignitaries will attend the Mass Funeral
of seven members of the Shabangu family in Madadeni on Saturday 11
February 2006 at Inyonini Zion Church.
The seven road accident victims were killed in a horrific taxi crash
that occurred on the P291 Road in Steildrift outside Newcastle. The taxi
was carrying 21 passengers on board travelling from Danhauser to
Madadeni. All twenty people were family and relatives who were attending
a wedding in Danhauser outside Newcastle.
In his address Cele is expected to detail the accident report, warn the
family against lawyers who usually take advantage of the grieving period
and rip families off. Cele will also push forward the message of road
safety particularly in Newcastle where we have a bad history of fatal
accidents that has claimed a number of lives.
