SOUTH AFRICA AND LESOTHO IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY TO ECONOMIC GROWTH
Pretoria:
Transport Minister Jeff Radebe, Environmental Affairs Minister Marthinus
van Schalkwyk and Lesotho Transport Minister Misithela will jointly
unveil the Sod Turning and Border Post relocation project to be held as
follows:
Date: 18 July 2006
Venue: Sani Pass Border Post (Underberg)
Time: 09h30 for 10h00
The total cost to this project is R160m and involves the upgrading of
the 33.1 km access road from current gravel to a sealed road from the
Himeville intersection to the Sani Pass top. It forms part of the
regional road link, linking South Africa with the Mokhotlong area of
Lesotho.
MEDIA:
Transport will be available at the DURBAN PLAYHOUSE (Next to Royal
Hotel) at 06h30 for 07h00 for members of the media who will be attending
the event. A media briefing will be held with the Ministers on site at
the Sod turning.
