MEC CELE TO VISIT TAXI RANKS IN PIETERMARIZBURG
The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr.
Cele will visit Taxi Rank around Pietermarizburg on Wednesday 25 October
2006 during afternoon peak.
He will be joined by the Head of Department Dr K.B. Mbanjwa, members of
Transport Portfolio committee and leaders of the taxi industry. The aim
of the visit by the MEC is to get first hand information about problems
faced by the passengers and also encourage the public to use public
transport.
The mandate of Department of Transport is to provide public transport
that is safe, reliable, efficient, affordable and accessible. These are
the issues that Department will be assessing on this visit.
