Scooter Safety
- Wear a helmet that meets the SABS’s safety standards, along with
knee and elbow pads
- Helmets should also be worn at all times when you ride your scooter
- Make sure that you ride the scooter on smooth, paved surfaces where
there is no traffic. Parents should discourage children from riding on
streets or surfaces where there is water, sand, gravel or dirt
- Do not ride your scooter at night. In poor visibility you can easily
miss hazards such as loose gravel or pot holes
