KZNDOTs Website Flourishes and Grows!

Website celebrates its one-year old anniversary.

The Internet team at the Department have nurtured and watched the website grow in leaps and bounds over the last year. Since its launch on 6 December 2002, the website has grown, undergone several revamps, and new ideas on attracting the public to the site have been undertaken in order to ensure that the public the Department serves are empowered with knowledge on the services the Department provides.

The public are able to communicate with the Department via the feedback feature on the website. Hundreds of queries have been received so far on a variety of issues, including a number of compliments on the layout of site and the useful information provided. The public are encouraged to use this facility as a means to interact directly with us. Feedback from the public is key to the Department mission.

New content is published on the website on at least a weekly basis and to ensure repeat visits, the site has been featuring a new front-page feature each month since April 2003, which focuses on one of the Department’s many activities. Past features include:

  • No Place for Abuse on Roads (December 2003)

  • Motor Licencing Bureau curbs vehicle crime (November 2003)

  • Siyabona Bonakala. See and Be Seen Campaign (October 2003)

  • HIV/Aids and Transport (June 2003)

  • MLB Choice Numbers (May 2003)

The success of the website can be attributed to the hardworking Internet team and the many staff of the Department, as well as members of the public, who have made valuable contributions in the form of providing information, feedback and ideas on how to improve the site.
