Top Award for former KZN DOT Chief Director
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport has extended its warmest
congratulations to former Communications and Public Safety Chief Director,
Thabang Chiloane, after he was name provincial communicator of the year at a
glittering awards ceremony hosted by the GCIS.
The award was presented to Chiloane by the Minister in the Presidency, Dr
Essop Pahad.
The award recognises communicators who have shown improved delivery,
innovation and excellence in government communication.
Chiloane’s award relates to much of the ground-breaking communication
innovation he brought to the KZN DOT during his tenure at the KwaZulu-Natal
Department of Transport.
The awards were adjudicated by a ten-member panel, chaired by Mr Mandla Langa,
who is also the chairperson of ICASA. The panel oversaw the entire process.
Chiloane thanked the panel for the prestigious award and also paid tribute to
the KZN DOT.
"It was professionally rewarding to manage the KZN DOT’s communication
function, and I must thank both the Minister, S’bu Ndebele, and the CEO, Dr
Kwazi Mbanjwa, for creating such an innovative and enabling environment at the
Department," said Chiloane soon after the awards.
