MEMORIAL SERVICE OF SEVEN PEOPLE WHO DIED IN A CAR ACCIDENT

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Safety and Security Mr Bheki Cele and Transport CEO Dr Kwazi Mbanjwa will attend a memorial service of seven people who were killed on Saturday in a horror car crash at Eshowe, northern KwaZulu-Natal.

The Memorial service will commence at 10am at Eshowe Sports Ground tomorrow (November 4, 2004)

The accident which left nine people seriously injured, occurred along R66 near Eshowe when a bakkie and a Honda Ballade collided. The injured were admitted to Eshowe Hospital.

The Northern KwaZulu-Natal region has lost 24 lives on roads within a week.

Last week eight people were killed in a bus accident in Vryheid while returning from a wedding in Newcastle. Another nine people were killed including a one-week-old infant near Empangeni on Monday.

The department has launched a full investigation into the accident.
