MEC Bheki Cele will attend a memorial service at Enkanyezini Hall
(Near Lion Park) for nine people killed in a bus accident on KwaNyuswa
road on Sunday.
It is alleged that the driver of the bus was driving at a very high
speed and apparently lost control of the bus whilst approaching a sharp
curve resulting to a bus overturning and killing nine lives instantly.
Seven people were seriously injured but are in a stable condition in
hospital while others sustained minor injuries and were discharged from
different hospitals.
The bus has been impounded due to the on-going technical investigation
of checking the roadworthiness status of the bus at the time of an
accident. Meanwhile the driver is facing charges of drinking and driving
and capable homicide.

FRIDAY, 8 OCTOBER 2004 AT 10H00
The National Department of Safety and Security will be hosting an
Imbizo at Tugela area in Utrecht to address issues facing local farmers
and the community.
MEC Bheki Cele will be accompanying the National Minister for Safety
and Security Charles Ngqakula to the Imbizo in Utrecht. This follows an
intervention by the secretariat nationally in attending to the crisis
situations facing farmers and the community of Utrecht.

SATURDAY, 9 OCTOBER 2004 AT 10H00
MEC Bheki Cele and other cabinet MEC’s will be accompanying the
Premier of the Province Sbu Ndebele to the Primers Imbizo to be held at
Siyanda High School, KwaMpumuza in Sweetwater’s.
This Imbizo is all Municipalities under Umgungundlovu Municipality. (Mshwathi
District Municipality, Richmond District Municipality, Mkhambathini
District Municipality, Msunduzi District Municipality, Mpendle District
Municipality and Mooi-Mpofana District Municipality) This is the second
Premiers Imbizo in the province and many more others are to follow.
Kwazulu-Natal Premier Sbu Ndebele, Cabinet MEC’s and various other
government officials will be among the dignitaries attending.
