WINDSOR PARK TESTING GROUND ARREST

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport in conjunction with SAPS Fraud Unit has arrested a Chief Administration Clerk Veronica Mhlongo of Windsor Park in Durban for fraud and bribery.

Mhlongo is facing six counts of fraud where she allegedly issued learner drivers licenses and accepted bribes. Several investigations by the department revealed that Mhlongo allegedly issuing learners drivers licenses since last year working hand in hand with certain driving schools.

The department of transport has to date cancelled over 350 drivers licenses which were obtained fraudulently from the same offices.

Minister of Transport S'bu Ndebele said up-rooting fraud and corruption in the department was his ongoing priority. He said these offences had a contributing factor on the country's road carnage.
